Are you 19 months old?

Are you looking for a delicious snack?

Is your mom not paying close attention to you because she is feeding Jillian?

Then go ahead and unlock and open the backdoor and head on out to the garden to grab yourself a tomato. Don't you worry mom won't notice the tomato stains and seeds all down your shirt, and dad won't be upset about the broken tomato plant. And no one will notice the large tomato in your hand as you walk around the house.

A few things Lincoln has learned lately.

1. How to carry the stool from my bedroom into the bathroom.

2. How to stand on the stool to reach his toothbrush.

3. How to push the stool over so he can again stand on it and reach his toothpaste.

4. That if he puts his toothpaste in his mouth he can use his teeth to open the cap.

5. How to use his toothbrush to dig into the toothpaste to get some out.

6. That his little potty chair makes a great seat for eating toothpaste on.

I'm never going to have to pay a dentist bill for this kid.

Jill sat up all by her self last night, I'm shocked the girl is only 3 months old and she can sit up on her own!

When we first brought Jilli home Lincoln was only interested in her when she cried, he would run over to her and just stare. He was in LOVE. He would kiss on her and hold her and smile at her and talk to her. It was all very very sweet and I thought I had it made. Well Grandma went home after a couple of days and about a week later Daddy (Brad, don't worry folks I don't refer to Brad as Daddy) went back to work and all the sudden jealousy reared its ugly head, well to be honest it hasn't been so ugly just really cute and funny. One day as I was laying out a blanket to swaddle Jillian, Lincoln jumped on the blanket and would not get off, he was rolling around wrapping himself up. So I, being the great mom that I am, said "just a minute let me wrap up Jilli then I will wrap you up." So I wrapped her and grabbed a bigger blanket and laid it down then wrapped him. Low and behold he laid there until he fell asleep. Now I'm no miracle worker

but this seemed like a miracle to me, so for about a week when nap time or bed time would roll around I would swaddle my 35 pound 17 month old and lay him in his crib where he promptly fell asleep. This technique did not work when we visited Grandma, although it did get some laughs from Grandma and Nicole as they watched me carry him down stairs, so we stopped doing it. But I swear to you it was working at home. In the first pic Lincoln is leaning in to kiss Jilli.

Also I pulled a boogie out of Jilli's nose and it had a flying ant in it. Poor baby.
Lincoln has mastered the back sliding door. He can open it and close it when ever he wants, and he is learning how to unlock it. When Brad came home from work for lunch yesterday he walked in the front door and saw Lincoln open the back door and let Delialah in, then close the back door. Lincoln then turned around got a shocked/I'm caught look on his face, then ran after Delialah yelling OUT OUT OUT! Brad asks all the time how I keep Lincoln from doing naughty things all day long, and the truth is I don't. I just don't tell Brad about all the naughty things he does so I don't seem like such a bad parent!

Lincoln also has a weird shoe fetish, he really likes to put on Brad's shoes and walk around the house, the thing about this is he can wear Brad's shoes and really walk around in them! I recenly caught him standing outside at the back fence wearing Brads shoes and a diaper.

Ok so I know it's been about a year, but I got really busy. Quick update and then I'm going to blog like I never left! Jillian was born, Lincoln is big, that's about it.

So my mom and sister and nephews have been out and we have been having fun! We spent all day yesterday at Lagoon, the kids loved the rides and it's weird how when your a parent you really just want to watch your kids have fun, although I don't really think Jilli was that into it being just 8 weeks and all. We did have one bathroom incident though, my mom took Lincoln to have a diaper change and accidentally took one of Jilli's diapers in with her instead of Lincolns (this is a mistake she has made before, how I will never know Lincolns diapers are the same size as Jilli) anyways in the 1 minute it took for her to take him back out of the bathroom to get the right diaper Lincoln pee'd himself. So while Grandma washed Lincoln's legs off in the sink and I washed his shorts out, some old bag starts in on how "this is how diseases are spread" and "every one's going to get sick". I let her have one but when she started in a second time I looked right at her and said "chill ya old bag" she was a little shocked that I was so honest, but really what is the difference in cleaning pee off of a baby's leg, and pee off your hands. I guess I really just don't understand why people chose to talk before they think, would she have rather had us leave him uncleaned and put him on rides so her grand kids could then sit in his pee!

Moving on, it's now time for a little about Jilli. She is cute, and funny. I've never meet another baby who doesn't like being held as much as her! She is very content to be laid down and left alone, and she never stops wiggling. Jilli's got a really strong neck and has been holding her head up since the day she was born. It's really funny to watch Brad with her, at first Brad was really scared to hold her, he kept saying she was too little. Which compared to Lincoln she is really tiny. I'm so glad we have Jilli in our family now, it's really been nice, and not nearly as hard as I thought it would be.

Sarah

One of my friends from my mom's group was in a car accident and is not doing well. Sarah has a two year old little girl and a two month old little boy. As of right now she is in the ICU and the upper part of her brain is showing no activity, this means she will most likely be non responsive for the rest of her life. The other mom's and I have decided to have a garage sale/ Bake sale on October 25th at 247 E. Handcart Way (8400 S.)Sandy, UT 84070 If you would like to stop by and donate to the sale, or buy something that would be great. Sarah is a great person and my heart hurts so much for her family. Feel free to pass along any info to anyone about the sale. Or call me if you need more details. We will be donating a couch and a washer and dryer, let me know if you want to just buy them now.

Update: Sarah's family made the very difficult decision to take her off of life support and she passed on Tuesday.
Oh BYU!

Our ward had an awsom pie's pumpkin's, and poetry night on Saturday and I decided to wright my own poem and share it. I sang it to the tune of Oh Christmas Tree.

Oh BYU, oh BYU
Why did you fail us again
We thought you would be a challenge
A chance for us to get revenge
Oh BYU, oh BYU
You failed your quest for perfection
The U of U will show the way
To play and win on New Year’s Day
Oh BYU, oh BYU
We want to thank you for losing
You had big dreams of the BCS
And now your program is in distress
Oh BYU, oh BYU
Why can’t you be perfect
Like the U

I think it went really well, but Brad said we now have to move due to the threats we recived afterwards!

California!!!!

So last year for Christmas, by the way I have issue's with spelling the word Christmas, I usually spell it Christmass in fact I have misspelled it in one of my scrapbooks. The reason for this is when I asked my good old dad one day how to spell Christmas he said "It's just Christ plus mass." so for the longest, and I really mean longest, time I spelled it Chirstmass. Anyways back to the post, We got a trip to San Diego California for Christmas last year from Brad's parents and we are finally taking it. Not that we delayed taking a free trip, but this is when it was scheduled. We started the trip a little rocky, our flight was canceled and since all the boy's had 240 dollar tee time's at Torrie Pines we decided it would be best to just fly into Orange Count and drive down to San Diego. The Flight was fine, except Lincoln cryed during take off, Callie cryed during the flight, and Mia cryed during landing, so the Burns family made sure we were known on the flight. The hotel is AMAZING! It's right on the water, and it doesn't smell funky! Pretty much any hotel that doesn't smell funky is great for me. Lincoln had made it his life's mission to not be on the same nap schedule during any vacation as any of the other kid's so that kind of sucks, we always miss swimming with the cousin's.

So we hit up a Dogers game and I guess when we bought the ticket's some one specifically asked for the fight section! It was down right crazy! First it took about a year and a half to park, eventually we all got out and went in except for Grampa and Grandma, they got stuck parking outside of the arena parking because it was too full. We made our way to seats that were so high up I really felt sick like I was going to die, it was really scary being that high, and because we were outside of Utah everyone was drinking and quite a few people had a little too much. In fact one guy went in the ladies room and wasn't even fazed by it. So we are sitting there trying to see the game when a fight breaks out about 3 row behind us and a little to the left, Brad handed me Lincoln and I guess the rest of the family just left, all I know is all the sudden one of the security guards and another guy are falling down a couple of row's of seat's, at this point it just seemed like pure insanity was breaking out. There was like 3 row with no one sitting in the seats so they fell a few row's and landed on some people, Brad jumped down to help the guard get up and another guard started pushing him, and people were still fighting above us. It was crazy, I'm sure Kara (Brad's sister) will post more about it. Needless to say I will never go to a baseball game again. Once was enough for me.

The trip was great Lincoln really enjoyed the beach, he ate some sand but was terrified of the water and we had a really great time. Thanks for the trip, Oh and a big shout out to the best dad in the word, Brad took care of Link the whole time it was great!

Lincolns Firsts

So Link has had a lot of first come up lately that are worthy of noting. First he got his first tooth, then he right away got tooth number two, so really he got his first teeth. I have tried over and over again to get a picture of these teeth, but I have failed. I have tried everything from the surprise picture to holding his mouth open but his tongue seems to be in the way every time. So alas no picture of the teeth.

Lincoln attended his first University of Utah Football game. I think this may have been the proudest moment in Brad's whole life. Everything went really well, Lincoln feel asleep right after halftime though so most of the pic's he's asleep in. Oh and Brad accidentally dressed him in girl pants. (I know it's half my fault for accidentally buying them, but come on they were 5 dollars.)

Another big first for our big man is he is finally crawling, but only on carpet, which we do not have any of. So he lives it up every time we go over to grandpa and grandma Burns house.
