These are pictures from our trip to Philidelphia

The Washington D.C. Temple is spectacular. One of the coolest things is seeing it as you are heading west on I-495. It pops up out of no where as you are driving on the freeway and then looks like you are going to drive right up into the temple just before the freeway turns. Everyone out here recognizes the temple and in fact it is often used as a landmarker on the radio when talking about traffic conditions.

Here are some pictures that we took in New Haven Conneticut. On our way home from Canada we stopped and had lunch just across the bay from the 5 mile Light house. We were able to get alot of seafood without spending alot of money.
Before there was a lighthouse at New Haven's Five Mile Point, the spot was noted for a battle in the American Revolution, when American riflemen repelled a British attempt to land and invade New Haven. British Ensign and Assistant Adjutant Watkins was killed in the skirmish and was buried close to where the lighthouse now stands. The first light house at this spot was built in 1805, but was soon found to be in poor shape. In 1847 a new light house was built to replace the old light house. The second light house still stands today.

Hi everybody,
This last weekend rachel and I had a chance to go to Sherbrooke, Quebec to visit a family that I had the chance to meet in Brazil. Ricardo and Monica Vincente were nice enough to let us stay with them for the weekend and be part of their family. While in Sherbrooke we were able to hang out with Artur, Hector, and Karen. Unfortunately I realized when I got home that we didn't get any pictures of Artur when we went out there. This is because at the age of 9 Artur is as busy as can be attending an elite school where he is able to perfect his piano and violin playing as well as contiuing to excel in academics. I knew that french was widely spoken in Quebec, but I thought that it would be like going to California and hearing spanish being widely spoken. Little did I know Sherbrooke is FRENCH. I don't know if a little more english is spoken in the larger cities in Quebec, but in this rural community english is not spoken much. It was quite a culture shock. Luckily we had the Vincentes to help us out. We really enjoyed being in Sherbrooke and seeing such a unique community.

These are pictures that we took in a public garden in downtown sherbrooke. Every year they do different animals and creatures in the garden. It was really cool to see the animals created out of living plants.
